Funfetti Cake Truffles

Cake has got to be one of my favourite desserts.  I could never go a week without having some sort of cake.  I came across this recipe (on Pinterest, of course) and I could not resist.  The no-bake recipe was super simple and the balls turned out perfectly.  My only issue, and it was a big one, was trying to melt the chocolate for the balls coating.  Maybe my microwave is too powerful or maybe I just don’t have the patience to be a grand chocolatier, but it took me three tries to get it right (but not perfect).  Just a little hint, chocolate melts best if you stir it around in a pot above boiling water.  The end result was far more fabulous then I had imagined and I have enough left over cake mix to make more.

Mad for Mint

1.      Essie Mint Candy Apple Nail polish- $8.99
2.      Mod Cloth Hey, Jade Necklace- $44.99
3.      Jeffery Campbell Mint Wedge- $115.00
4.      Balenciaga Papier A4 Tote- $1,230.00
5.      Eco Friendly Mint Pencils- $5.00
6.      Electra Ticino 8D Bicycle- $1,049.00

I always thought my favourite colour would stay the same throughout life, until mint came along.  I have slowly become obsessed with the colour, I want mint everything!  It is so fresh and feminine without being too childish.  Mint also compliments all of my favourite metals (gold and white gold), along with my old favourite colour, pink.  These are just a few of my current mint craves.  I am hopefully going to get the bike before the Spring weather kicks in.

Glitter Nails

I am one of those people that feel naked if my nails aren’t painted.  I switch up my nail colour about once a week but I usually shy away from something sparkly.  I find all over glitter just feels too childish and I tend to stick to shine free polishes. While pinning a few days ago, I came across a simple trick on a more mature approach of glitter nails and decided to give it a try.  I think now, thanks to Martha Stewart glitter and Pinterest, I have become a glitter nail lover.

Back Together in the City

Koko Boutique sweater, Costa Blanca top,
Bluenotes jeans, Marc Jacobs bag,
Michael Kors watch and Aldo booties

It feels wonderful to get back into the groove of living in Vancouver.  All I needed was a day with Krysta, which was well overdue.  We spent our day doing our two favourite things to do together, which are eating and shopping.  The weather was even nice enough to lets me venture out in only a sweater.

Happy Happenings

{view from our balcony}

My move has been split up between two different days.  We moved in on Thursday with just enough stuff to survive through the weekend and then the rest of our stuff is being moved in today.  Having the three days in between was a perfect break between the stress of moving.  We spent our days filled with simple indulgences like lazing in bed, catching up on Mad Men and exploring our new city.
